Men beaten with sledgehammer and crowbar by masked gang

Two men in their 30s were attacked after four masked men smashed in doors and windows at the house.

POLICE ARE APPEALING for information in the wake of an attack on two men in their 30s at a house in Ballymoney in Co Antrim last night.

It happened on Carnany Drive in the town shortly before 11.30pm.

The windows and front door of the house were smashed in by four masked men, according to the PSNI.

“The gang assaulted two men, both aged in their 30s, using a crowbar and a sledgehammer,” Detective Inspector Bob Blemmings said.

“One of the victims was attacked in an alleyway beside the house and then dragged to a grassed area and further assaulted,” the officer said.

He has sustained suspected fractures to his arms, legs and ankles along with a number of puncture wounds.

The other man sustained a laceration to the top of his head.

Detectives in Coleraine are appealing for anyone with information wot come forward.

Love ordering stuff from China, though their quality control leaves a bit to be desired.

@Matty Killucan: The inlet cowl is made by Bombardier, probably in Belfast.

The engines are certainly RR but the inlet cowl/acoustic panels are made by Bombardier. From the pictures it was the cowl that failed, forward of the LPT fan (where the RR engine would start).

@Christopher Treacy: Fan blades look intact. This isn’t the 1st one to fail either, there was an incident in Egypt a few weeks back also on a Trent powered A330

@cortisola: that’s not duck tape, it’s aluminium high speed tape, and it’s widely used within the aviation industry.
