Poll: Do we need more bank holidays?

UKIP is campaigning for an extra one to be brought in to mark St George’s Day – but do we need another one here?

UKIP LEADER NIGEL Farage has called for St George’s Day to be designated a public holiday, as he campaigns in the UK general election.

It got us wondering – do we have enough here? Would an extra one make us all a bit more productive? Not to mention, happier?

There are nine public holidays in Ireland each year, compared to the UK’s eight. In France, however, they have eleven (13 in some regions).

What do you think?

Poll Results:

Another holiday. Heaven knows we need it. (8991)
Leave it as it is. (1481)
Keep the ones we have - but can we spread them out a bit more? (1309)
We should have fewer. (446)
