Barack Obama gets stitches after basketball incident

US president got knocked in the face during a game and had to get 12 stitches for a cut lip.

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA had to get 12 stitches to his lip after being knocked in the face during a basketball game.

The White House said the president was “inadvertently hit” by an opposing player’s elbow earlier today.

Bloomberg reports that Obama was playing with family and friends for about two hours in Washington.

A statement from the White House said that medical authorities used a special smaller filament when stitching Obama’s lip, to increase the number of stitches but reduce the scarring.
