WHILE THINGS ARE starting to look a bit better weather-wise over here, not everyone is as lucky.
Footage has emerged of giant hailstones raining down on the town of Chinchilla in southern Queensland.
This happened over the weekend and saw hailstones measuring up to 12 centimetres in diameter hitting businesses in the region, according to ABC News.
The storm saw windows being broken, cars damaged and power being cut in parts of the town.
The below footage was posted by Extreme Weather and was taken by someone at a rugby competition that had to be abandoned due to the onset of the stormy weather.
The storm was a freak occurrence with a number of locations across Queensland having some of their hottest weather on record for March on Friday.
Eye witness reports stated that the storm came on suddenly and the Bureau of Meteorology has said that it was caused by instability created by troughs of wind.
