18 hospitalised after a truck carrying thousands of bees crashes on motorway

Two of those injured included two Finnish tourists.

EIGHTEEN PEOPLE NEEDED hospital treatment for numerous bee stings after a truck carrying dozens of hives crashed over the weekend.

The bees escaped after the truck overturned in the western Turkish province of Mugla over the weekend, the state-run Anadolu agency said.

The motorway was closed for two hours and beekeepers were called to spray the hives with suppression foam.

Two of those injured included two Finnish tourists.
