Belgium's prime minister was covered in his country's national dish yesterday

Charles Michel had frites and mayonnaise all over him yesterday.

BELGIUM’S PRIME MINISTER has said he will not press charges after being pelted with one of his country’s favourite delicacies yesterday.

Anti-austerity protesters stormed an event where Charles Michel was speaking yesterday and covered him in chips and mayonnaise.

The 39-year-old, the country’s youngest premier for 174 years, could only smile as he was chased off the podium and squirted with mayonnaise before the intruders were apprehended.

Michel’s spokesperson later confirmed that he will not press charges.
