21 sparkling photos of the best Christmas light displays all over Ireland

All of the most dazzling, twinkling lights around the country.

THE CHRISTMAS SEASON is upon us and towns the length and breadth of the country have decked themselves out in sparkles. Giant Christmas trees have been erected and fairy lights are strewn across every available surface.

The result? Everywhere just looks a bit more magic.

Let’s take a gander at some of the best light displays around the country, shall we?

Dublin’s Henry Street has been wrapped in a glittering red bow for the month that’s in it.

The most Christmassy house in Dublin is back at it again this year.

William Tilly from Bath Avenue, Sandyford, decorates his house every year and raises money for Our Lady’s Hospice in Harold’s Cross.

Cork is looking only fabulous this year.

The Apple Market in Waterford is nothing short of a winter wonderland.

The trees in People’s Park in Dún Laoghaire have undergone a Christmas makeover. It’s the little touches…

Josie’s Lights in Crumlin are back for another year and they’re as jolly as ever.

Fairy lights, gingerbread house, ferris wheel – Galway, you’re looking well this year.

Longford is looking all twinkly.

While Ennis is as pretty as a Christmas card.

Every year, Tony Fitzpatrick and his family light up their house in Drinagh, Co. Wexford to raise funds for charity. As you can see, it’s pretty spectacular.

Carlingford is understated, but oh-so-charming.

This house in Tallaght is certainly getting in the Christmas spirit.

Kilkenny is so sparkly that you have to squint.

Here’s the Latin Quarter in Galway looking wonderfully festive and inviting.

Kildare Village is spreading joy <3

Belfast City Hall has gone all out with their decorations.

This garden in Dunmanway, Co. Cork, is just magical.

Temple Bar has never looked prettier :’)

Letterkenny is a sight for sore eyes.

And finally, there’s Dublin’s Grafton Street. It may be hectic at this time of year, but it sure is beautiful.

:’)

does any body know why dogs are not allowed on public transport in Ireland ? in most of Europe it’s not a problem. just buy them a ticket
was there an incident years ago that changed the law ?
like dogs not allow in pubs ? did something happen ? and don’t give me that bull about possible food poisoning if that were true there would be a lot of sick dogs owners everywhere

I’m reminded of my grandmother’s dog years ago. She would walk into town and her dog would follow her. After a while he would get bored of town and hop on the bus home, by himself. He used to recognise people from his local area getting on the bus, I reckon. The bus drivers and ticket guys never had an issue with him.

That’s a good point David. I brought my dog to the shops yesterday for a walk and they have a dog chain and bowl of water outside the shop for dogs.but my dog is quite elderly and not as sprightly as she used to be and her bladder isn’t as robust as it used to be.id be terrified she would pee in the shop.

I often see small dogs on the Limerick/Dublin and Dubkin/Sligo train, some people carry little crates for them, other just keep them on a lead, not much hope of being allowed on with my three doberman I suppose though.

The dogs in pub situation was something that happened with MVP on clanbrassil street. They wrote back to the HSE seeking clarification as to why and never received any response so went back to operating as dog friendly, a new dog friendly cafe only opened up somewhere in town a few weeks ago, still a few places around town that seem dog friendly

You can bring a dog to ireland on stena line it says you will need a pet passport but you will not be asked to show it . you can travel on Irish rail with no problem as long as it stays on its lead . didn’t I see a horse on the luas not long back? I’d rather be on a train or a pub full of dogs ,than be on or in with screaming kids

Was in my bookies yesterday, Boyle Sports Clontarf. Told I could no longer bring my dog in. After a walk on the prom, I always end up in BS Shop – I don’t bring him in, he brings me in. Its part of his routine. Told me it was because of Health & Safety !!! Any1 know of any bookies shop in Clontarf Fairview Artane, which is dog -friendly. Woff woff.

There is EU food hygiene legislation that no dogs are allowed into shops that sell food exception is guide dogs they are allowed for obvious reasons so not sure how this supermarket in Italy been allowed A retailer also might have a problem with an insurance company if public had an accident Most dogs are fine but I used to work in retail and you be surprised as to what a dog can get upto in a supermarket some is funny and some it’s not
