Open thread: What spooky reads would you recommend for Halloween?

Dracula? The Amityville Horror? Thrill us with your suggestions.

THERE’S NOTHING AS atmospheric as being immersed in a gripping thriller or horror novel.

Halloween is a good time to get stuck into a classic tome. Rick O’Shea’s popular book club community have already been discussing their favourites over on Facebook. Rick is going to dive deeper into a discussion on Dracula today at 3pm at Belvedere House on Denmark Street in Dublin with some special guests and an audience (free but ticketed).

It’s an appropriate novel for the weekend that is in it and is part of the Bram Stoker Festival. Stoker, of course, was born in Dublin and his gothic fantasy has become part of the global lexicon of horror.

So what’s your favourite horror or gothic read?

Thrill us with your suggestions below.
