Merrion Hotel

'Effortless style and unparalleled service': Ireland's best hotels have been revealed

Millions of reviews were used to calculate the nation’s top places to stay.

A STUDY OF millions of reviews has seen Dublin’s Merrion Hotel voted the country’s best five-star place to stay.

Hotel search website Trivago compiled the results and handed out the awards in eight different categories.

The winners included:

  • Killeen House, Killarney (3-Star)
  • Harvey’s Point, Donegal (4-star)
  • The Merrion, Dublin (5-star)
  • The Tides Guesthouse, Ballybunion (B&B)
  • Avlon House, Carlow (Value for Money)
  • Ariel House, Dublin (Breakfast)
  • Killeen House, Killarney (Guest Service)
  • Harvey’s Point, Donegal (Guest Rooms)

After being rated the best hotel in the country last year, Harvey’s Point in Donegal is awarded the best 4-star hotel and the best hotel for guest rooms.

Killeen House in Killarney, Kerry, is recognised as both the best 3-star hotel and the best hotel for service this year.

Owners Michael and Geraldine Rosney said their success was down to their guests and that they were “truly thankful” to pick up the award.

Luxury

But it was the Merrion in Dublin which scooped the best luxury hotel in Ireland.

General Manager Peter MacCann praised the hotel’s style.

He said:

The Merrion’s worldwide reputation is rooted in a happy marriage of effortless style and unparalleled service, making it one if the finest five-star hotels Ireland has to offer.
