Good news: 50 new jobs in Dublin pharmaceutical firm

BioMarin Pharmaceutical, which also has a manufacturing facility in Cork, said it expects to employ a total of 200 people here by the end of 2017.

A PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY in Dublin has announced expansion in the capital city which will create an additional 50 jobs.

BioMarin Manufacturing Ireland’s Dublin operation is responsible for the supply chain, logistics and high level commercial decision making. This includes price, distribution and third party contracts for the launch of enzyme replacement drug VIMIZIM which has, just this week, this week been approved by the European Commission.

The company will now begin recruiting for senior accounting, finance, customer service and marketing positions. Today the firm said it expects to have total employment of 200 people in Ireland by the end of 2017 – both in Dublin and in its Cork manufacturing facility.

Commenting on the announcement, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton said there had been “major successes” in the last two years in the pharmaceutical sector as regards job creation and this is a further boost.
