Man dies following shooting outside pub on Blackhorse Avenue in Dublin

A burnt out car was found near the scene.

A MAN HAS died following a shooting at the rear of Cumiskey’s pub on Blackhorse Avenue, Dublin this evening.

His body remains at the scene and will be removed to the city morgue later tonight and a post-mortem is due to take place in the morning.

Gardaí are at the scene outside and the area has been cordoned off. The shooting happened at approximately 5.45pm.

It is understood that the man, who was in his early 30s, was shot in the head.

A burnt-out car was found on a laneway off Regal Park on Blackhorse Avenue, not far from the scene.

The scene is currently preserved pending a Garda technical investigation.

Gardaí in Cabra are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the vicinity of the pub between 5.30pm and 6 pm or anyone who can assist them in relation to the burnt out car on Blackhorse Avenue to contact them on 01 6667400, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
