Security man hospitalised after Blanchardstown cash-in-transit robbery

The man was struck over the head while making a delivery to an ATM machine in the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre.

A SECURITY MAN is in hospital in Blanchardstown in west Dublin after a cash-in-transit robbery outside the local shopping centre earlier today.

The man was struck over the head while making a delivery to an ATM machine in the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre at around 1.20pm today.

Two men stole the cash box and made their getaway in a black coloured BMW with partial registration 02-D.

The security man was taken to Connolly Hospital where his injuries are not said to be serious.

Gardaí are investigating.
