Woman (30s) killed after hit-and-run involving four pedestrians in west Dublin

The collision happened in Blanchardstown at around 5.45pm this evening.

A WOMAN HAS been killed and a man has been seriously injured following a hit-and-run involving multiple pedestrians in Blanchardstown in Dublin.

The incident happened at around 5.45pm this evening, when a car was involved in a collision involving four pedestrians at Blanchardstown Road North.

A woman in her 30s was pronounced dead at the scene and a man in his 30s was taken to nearby Connolly Hospital with serious injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The driver failed to remain at the scene and gardaí said they have yet to come forward.

Emergency services attended the scene and the road has been closed for a technical examination, with motorists advised that local diversions are in place.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them, particularly any road users or pedestrians who were in the vicinity of Blanchardstown Road North between 5pm and 6pm this evening.

They have asked that anyone who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, to come forward and make it available to investigating Gardaí.
