THE DUBLIN FIRE Brigade is attending the scene of a large domestic fire in Blanchardstown, west Dublin.

The fire is raging at a block of apartments at Verdemont on the Snugborough Road, not far from Blanchardstown shopping centre.

The fire brigade is using a 100ft turntable ladder and six pumps to try to fight the blaze.

There are no reports of injuries as of yet. It is understood, however, that ambulances are on standby.

The most recent photos from the scene show that the roof has caved in atop one of the buildings in the apartment complex.

The fire brigade has deployed a drone at the scene, and a number of units are said to have “substantially affected” by the fire.

It is believed that a call was made to the emergency services just after 5.30pm this evening.

The Dublin Fire Brigade is warning residents in the Verdemont area to keep their windows closed.
