Winter blues: are you feeling fed up today?

According to a (questionable) calculation, the third Monday of January is the bleakest day of the year.

TODAY IS BLUE Monday, apparently the most miserable day on the calendar.

The Christmas break is a distant memory, your out-of-office email has been disabled, the weather is crap and bank balances are low.

The theory, by psychologist Cliff Arnall, is generally dismissed as pseudoscience – but many people can be affected by seasonal affective disorder, or “winter blues”, a condition thought to be caused by a lack of light during the winter months.

So, how are you doing today?

This morning’s poll: Are you feeling fed up?

Poll Results:

Yes. Pretty miserable. (4399)
No, I feel just fine. (3688)
