Man arrested over Tipperary slurry pit murder

A 45-year-old woman was also arrested yesterday as part of the investigation and is still being held.

A MAN IN his 40s has been arrested in Tipperary this evening in connection with the murder of Bobby Ryan, whose remains were discovered in a disused slurry put in April last year.

The father of of two had worked in a quarry and as a part-time DJ and had disappeared in June 2011. His body was found by a farmer leasing land at Fawngowan, which is outside Tipperary town.

Yesterday, a 45-year-old woman was also arrested as part of the investigation and gardaí said this evening that she remains in custody at Tipperary Garda Station where the man arrested today is also being held.

The murder investigation continues.
