Body discovered in Cork city centre

The body of a man was discovered outside an apartment complex in Cork city yesterday evening.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a man in Cork city centre yesterday evening.

Officers in Bridewell were alerted to Garden City Apartments on North Main Street shortly after 5.30 on Monday following the discovery of the man’s body.

The age of the deceased is unknown.

Gardaí say the scene has been preserved for technical examination. The state pathologist is due to carry out a post mortem examination today.

Gardaí are examining all possibilities surrounding the incident.
