Post-mortem due on man found on Shop Street, Galway

The death is not currently being treated as suspicious.

THE DEATH OF a man found on Shop St in Galway is currently not being treated as suspicious.

Emergency services were called to the scene early this morning and the man was found to be unresponsive while in a doorway of a premises at around 7.30am.

Gardaí say that the man was brought to the University Hospital Galway where he was pronounced dead.

The area where the man was found has been sealed off.

A post-mortem is due to take place on the body. The situation is currently being treated as a tragic death.
