Body of man in his 60s found at side of Galway road

The body of a man in his mid-60s was discovered at Kilcloghans, Tuam, at about 11am this morning.

THE BODY OF a man has been discovered at the side of a Galway road.

The dead man, who was in his mid-60s, was discovered at roughly 10.50am this morning beside the N17 road at Kilcloghans, Tuam, in the north of the county.

His body was subsequently removed to University Hospital Galway.

A Garda spokesman said that a post mortem is to be arranged which will dictate the course of the investigation.

Gardaí at Tuam have appealed for anyone who may have seen a man on the N17 between Ballygaddy Road junction and the new roundabout at Kilcloghans between 10.30pm last night and 10am this morning to contact them at Tuam on 093 70840.
