Efforts at identifying the body are ongoing, Met Police say.

POLICE SEARCHING FOR a missing 18-year-old from Galway have found a body.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson told TheJournal.ie that there had been no identification made, but that efforts were ongoing.

The body was discovered at around 7.50pm this evening, in an enclosed area in the vicinity of Burger King and the Zoo Bar off Leicester Square.

Enquiries are underway to establish the identity of the deceased.

Patrick Halpin had been missing since Tuesday, having left the Zoo nightclub.

His family had flown to London this afternoon to join the search for the missing DCU student.

He had been in the English capital on a college trip.
