Rosie Moloney who had been missing from her home in Pallaskenry, Co. Limerick.

THE BODY OF a woman missing from her home since last Saturday has been found by gardaí and the Irish Coast Guard in the Shannon Estuary.

Gardaí in Newcastle-west have confirmed that the body of the woman is that of 24-year-old Rosie Moloney who had been missing from her home in Pallaskenry, Co. Limerick.

A coast guard helicopter had spotted the body on the Clare side of the estuary this afternoon and a search and rescue boat from Foynes was tasked to return the body to the mainland.

Gardaí say that they would like to thank the public for assisting in the search and have advised that no further action is required.
