Firearms, ammunition and explosives found outside Dundalk

The seizure was made by gardaí targeting the activities of dissident republicans.

FIREARMS, AMMUNITION AND improvised explosive devices were found at an area outside Dundalk this afternoon.

Gardaí targeting the activities of dissident republicans were involved in the search operation.

It began last night at approximately 9pm and continued into this afternoon.

The army bomb disposal unit were called to the scene at Raskeagh close to the M1 flyover.

A small area was sealed off but it’s now understood that all roads have re-opened.
