Bomb explodes under car in Ballyfermot

No injuries have been reported and gardaí say they arrested three men in connection with last night’s explosion.

A BOMB described by gardaí as an “improvised device” exploded beneath a car in Ballyfermot, Co Dublin, last night.

No injuries have been reported.

The explosion occurred at around 10.40pm and caused substantial damage to the vehicle, which was parked in the driveway of a house at Thomand Park.

Gardaí investigating the incident arrested three men all aged in their 20s a short time later. They are being held at Ballyfermot Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.

The scene of the explosion has been sealed off for a technical examination.
