Bomb found at Co Clare farm

The army bomb disposal team was called to the farm in Ardnacrusha after a viable IED was discovered overnight.

THE ARMY BOMB disposal team was called to a farm in Co Clare after the discovery of an explosive device overnight.

The team arrived at the scene in Ardnacrusha at around 1am today after being alerted by gardaí.

The scene was declared safe two hours later, and no controlled explosion was carried out on the viable improvised explosive device (IED).

The device was removed to technical analysis and an investigation into the incident is underway.

The team has been called out over 200 times this year and has made over 40 viable devices safe.
