Bomb squad deals with viable device in Tallaght

The Army Bomb Disposal Team says it was called to Donomore Park overnight to deal with a viable device.

THE ARMY BOMB Disposal Team was called to Tallaght overnight to deal with a viable improvised explosive device in the area.

The team was deployed by the Defence Forces, in response to a request by the Gardaí, to a residential area at Donomore Park at around 12:30am.

The suspicious device was made safe without a controlled explosion, and removed to a military base for further examinations.

The scene was declared safe at 1am.
