Bomb squad make safe two viable IEDs in Mayo

Gardaí discovered the devices earlier this afternoon.

TWO VIABLE BOMBS have been made safe in Mayo.

Gardaí discovered the devices earlier today in the Moneen area of Castlebar.

The Defence Forces deployed the Army Bomb Disposal Team to the scene and a cordon was put in place.

The devices were made safe at the scene, and were later confirmed to be viable improvised explosive devices.

Analysis of the bombs will be used by gardaí in their investigations.
