Now there's a documentary about Bono's one-man show

An “immersive” version of the film will also be released, where viewers can feel like they’re onstage with Bono.

A NEW DOCUMENTARY about Bono’s life and one-man show is coming out on Apple TV+ in May.

The film, which is described as a “bold visual exploration”, is based on the U2 frontman’s 2022 memoir Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story, and the tour that accompanied it.

Bono: Stories of Surrender will be a reimagining of the stage show that promises to “pull back the curtain” on his life, family, friends, and faith.

Premiering on 30 May, the film will show personal stories about Bono’s journey as a son, father, husband, activist and rockstar.

Along with never-before-seen footage from his New York Beacon Theatre shows, it features performances of many U2 hits.

Premiering on the same day on Apple Vision Pro is an “immersive” version of the film, which is described as ”a remarkable media format recorded in 8K with Spatial Audio to produce a 180-degree video that places viewers onstage with Bono and in the center of his story”.

Academy Award and Emmy Award-winning RadicalMedia’s Jon Kamen and Dave Sirulnick (Summer of Soul, Hamilton) produce alongside Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner (Moonlight, 12 Years a Slave).

Bono is an executive producer of the fim, alongside Jennifer Pitcher (Kiss The Future) and Kelly McNamara (V-U2 an Immersive Concert Film at Sphere Las Vegas).
