Poll: Should bonus points be awarded for Leaving Cert science subjects?

And would it help stem the skills shortages in the tech and sciences industry?

BONUS POINTS ARE already offered for Leaving Cert maths, but now there are calls for this incentive to be extended to science subjects.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Ireland has called for more supports to be put in place to encourage students to take these subjects, something they hope will help stem the skills shortages in the tech and sciences industry.

Since 2012, a bonus of 25 points for students with a grade D3 or above in Higher Maths is awarded, prompting more students to sit the exam.

We want to know what you think: Should bonus points be awarded for Leaving Certificate science subjects?
