Boy, 15, dies after being hit by car

Teenager David Preece was walking along a road in Donaghcloney when he was struck by the vehicle last night.

A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has died after being hit by a car as he walked along a road.

David Preece was walking on the Donaghcloney Road in Donaghcloney, Co Down last night when he was struck by the vehicle.

Preece, from the Blackskull area, was involved in the accident at around 11pm.

Upper Bann MLA Jo-Anne Dobson said she was “deeply saddened” to learn of the incident.

My thoughts go out to the family and friends of this young boy. The community in Donaghcloney, a quiet rural community, will be in shock to hear of what happened in the village last night.

Police in Lurgan have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to contact them.
