Boy (14) in serious condition in hospital after fall

The teenager fell and became trapped in railings while playing with friends in Kinsale last evening.

A 14-YEAR-OLD BOY is in a serious condition in hospital in Cork this morning, after he sustained head injuries in a fall while playing with friends.

The incident happened at around 6.30pm last evening in the The Orchards estate in Kinsale — the young boy tripped and fell into railings, where he became trapped.

He was freed by emergency services and rushed to Cork University Hospital, where he continues to receive treatment today, a garda spokesperson said.

It’s understood he’s being treated for serious head injuries.

Gardaí are treating it as an accident.
