Two-year-old boy dies in Waterford beach accident

The incident happened at Boatstrand near the village of Bunmahon in Waterford last night.

A TWO-YEAR-OLD boy has drowned in what is being treated as a freak accident on a beach in Waterford yesterday.

The incident happened at Boatstrand near the village of Bunmahon in County Waterford at around 7pm last night.

The young boy is reported to have been with his father and other family members when he went to play on a beach a short distance away from them and got into difficulty.

Gardaí had no further details but said the incident is being treated as a “freak accident”.
