Here’s why there was a young boy mowing the lawn at the White House today

The young boy said it was “pretty much the best day of my life”.

DONALD TRUMP APPEARED in front of the White House for a televised press appearance today – but a lot of attention was drawn to what happened after he stepped away from the cameras.

Because to his right could be seen a young boy mowing the White House lawn, accompanied by two men.

What was going on?

It turns out this boy is the 11-year-old Frank Giaccio, from Falls Church, Virginia. He had written to the US president earlier this year saying that he owned his own lawn-mowing business and it would an “honour” to mow the White House lawn.

The White House accepted his offer and Frank was invited to mow the grass in the Rose Garden today under the watchful eye of uniformed park service workers.

He earned a “great job” and a high five from US President Donald Trump for his work.

Frank began mowing in the Rose Garden at around 9.30am (1.30pm GMT).

Trump appeared about 10 minutes later, gave Frank a high five and told him he was doing a “great job.”

Interviewed on the Fox Business network before heading to the White House, Frank said the day was shaping up to be “pretty much the best day of my life.”
