Seven-year-old killed in Wexford road crash

A young boy has died in Clonroche, Wexford after being struck by a Jeep.

A SEVEN-YEAR-OLD boy has died in county Wexford after being struck by a Jeep this morning.

The collision occurred on the Main Street of Clonroche at about 10.45am.

The boy was removed from the scene and brought to Wexford General Hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.

Gardai in Clonroche in Wexford said a forensic team has examined the site and the road is now re-opened. They are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact them on 053-9242580 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.

The fatal accident is the second of the day after a man in his thirties died in a crash in Longford.
