Women in Brazil are pulling an amazing face to fend off street harassment

One woman started it last week and it’s going viral.

THIS IS HOW you stop street harassment in Brazil, and it’s an online campaign that is gathering momentum all the time.

Last week, Brazilian woman Débora Adorno was walking through the streets of Belo Horizonte – a large city in the South-East of the country.

She experienced some harassment from men while she was walking – people shouting things and staring at her. She was so frustrated that she posted her story to Facebook, along with the face she pulled to get people to leave her alone.

And it seemed to work. The face – called “Toothy Face” – has gone viral on the back of her story, with so many people in Brazil expressing solidarity with her plight – all under the hashtag of #caretadodentinho
