Poll: If Britain goes - should Ireland leave the EU?

If Britain does opt for an ‘out’ in its referendum – the result will obviously have implications for Ireland.

BRITISH PRIME MINISTER David Cameron has been on a 48-hour charm offensive since yesterday morning – meeting EU leaders to gather support for changes he wants ahead of the UK’s in-out referendum on membership.

If Britain does, in fact, opt for an ‘out’ in the national vote – the result will obviously have implications for Ireland.

A new Red C poll has found 77 per cent of people here believe Ireland should STAY in the union, even if our nearest neighbour leaves. That rises to 95 per cent for farmers.

What do you think?

Poll Results:

Stay (9430)
Go (6075)
It's Friday night... I don't know/care (2052)
