Brother and sister tied up in vicious burglary

The two lived together and are in their 60s.

A BROTHER AND sister have suffered a terrifying ordeal after being tied up at their home in Kildare.

Gardaí have confirmed this morning that they are investigating an aggravated burglary at a home in Thomastown East, Rathangan at around 8.30pm yesterday evening.

Four masked men then burst into the home of the brother and sister, who are both in their 60s.  

The group were armed with golf clubs and demanded that money be handed over.

Eventually they left the house, having stolen a sum of cash.

The men escaped in a unidentified car.

No arrests have been made and gardaí in Kildare are appealing for the public to come forward.
