PHOTOS: The breathtaking west Cork landscape that's welcoming Star Wars

Feel the force, bai.

DONEGAL, KERRY AND West Cork.

The Star Wars gang sure have excellent taste when it comes to choosing filming locations.

With shooting to take place at Ceann Sibéal on the Dingle Peninsula, Malin Head in Donegal and Brow Head in Cork, the Wild Atlantic Way will feature several times in Episode VIII when it comes out.

Speaking of Brow Head…

It’s the most southerly tip of mainland Ireland…

Fairly close to the edge of the world…

Plenty of space for sitting…

And strolling…

And taking in the view…

And what a view it is…

Plenty of history here…

And plenty of Star Wars inspiration…

At the mercy of the weather…

But mercy, what weather!

And what sunrises!

Sick of Star Wars at this stage.
Everywhere you go now in Ireland there’s a Star Wars crew shooting a movie.
You know the sad thing about all this?
The people banging on about ‘the latest Star Wars location’ are the very ones who never visit these places.
But mention Hollywood and they’re travel experts.
    Pathetic.

You say it like nobody is FROM these places or PROUD of them Cal!? Don’t be a donkey, we have a pretty small island but with pretty amazing land that has shaped us all even if you don’t see it

    @Tony.
Actually I love the Irish landscape and visit as many places as I can, usually sleeping in a tent in order to absorb the landscape even more.
Star Wars has nothing to do with our cultural heritage.

Star wars doesn’t have to have anything to do with our cultural heritage in order for us to collectively feel proud that they have recognised the unique beauty of the island we are lucky to live on. But keep you going on the default cynic setting you donk.

‘ in order for us to collectively feel proud that they have recognised the unique beauty of the island we are lucky to live on’
They’re nor shooting here because of the unique beauty of the Irish landscape Tony. They’re shooting here because certain parts of the landscape fit the required location profile. If it didn’t they wouldn’t even be here.
All the hullabaloo about Skellig Michael in the last movie and for what? A 30 second clip at the very end of the film.
But that’s OK Tony, obviously you’ve bought into the social media spin hook, line and sinker, you continue parroting the nonsense if it makes you feel ‘privileged by extension’.
