Dublin Airport suspends services

DUBLIN AIRPORT HAS suspended all operations following heavy snowfalls this afternoon. The airport’s authorities are saying that their snow and ice teams are trying to clear the runways and apron as quickly as possible and have put a tentative estimate for reopening at 9.30pm tonight.

Dublin Bus has also curtailed some of its routes, although it is honouring valid Luas tickets in affected areas that they continue to serve but where trams are no longer running because of power outages on the Green line and an incident at Abbey Street. The Red line is now open again at all stops. The full details of what buses are running where are here.

Irish Rail has full services operating, and Bus Eireann are reporting most of its routes are intact, except in some parts of the north east.

AA Roadwatch is warning of freezing fog and ice making driving conditions on the roads very dangerous.
