It crashed into a crane according to Sky news.
I live in the development where this tower is being built. It’s very scary, if the helicopter had of being heading in the opposite direction, it would have hit either the apartments or bus station. Heard a massive bang just after 8 and then looked out to a plummet of smoke. Tbh when I heard the bang wasnt too worried as the area has a lot of construction going on so it can get noisy. It’s completely surreal. RIP to the victims.
Can see the smoke from my office! Hit a crane and fell to the ground apparently!
That’s just up the road from my house!! Lots of building work going around there aswell.
I been up many cranes in London near airports I sure once or twice a plane has came within 100ft over me

Also sad to see that so many of our young people are seeing this from their work place windows, having to be over there than here. Sad sign of out times and our Govts of last few decades.
Only in Ireland could we read about helicopter crash in another country and find a reason to complain about our government. Not every story needs a comment on how bad they are!

Holy crap!
Two confirmed dead, just this minute. Pilot and someone in a car which was hit by falling helicopter. Low fog tipping the top of the building with the Crane. Near impossible to fly in fog, must have flew lower to exit fog and clipped the Crane.
Alan Sugar will just have to tube it like everyone else now.

It was an Agusta 109 helicopter. Very common helicopter used for VIP transport etc…

The SAS used to have a couple of 109s (captured from Argentinian during the Falklands war). Cue the conspiracy theorists!
Used to have, Reg. The Agusta 109s, including the captured Argentine ones, were replaced by Dauphins as you probably already know. But no doubt some conspiracy loon will attempt to go down the SAS Agusta 109 route?
Was it an A-TEAM crash? That is the pilot stumbles from the wreckage unscathed.
Nope. This being reality he died a tragic, horrific death instead.
Everyone should steer clear of Waterloo-nightmare took two hours getting into work! Unfortunately there have been casualties, but it just shows that the desensitising nature in London certainly exists….when these incidents occur, it usually follows runs along the lines of,’God, what happened?’ next pressing issue (how does this affect my route/transport).
