Two people hospitalised after equipment falls from height at Citywest construction site

Separate Garda and HSA investigations are under way.

LAST UPDATE | 19 Jul

TWO MEN WERE hospitalised yesterday evening after a piece of equipment fell from a height at a construction site in the west of Dublin city.

Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority have launched separate probes into the incident, which happened on Citywest Drive at around 6.30pm yesterday.

The two men were taken to Tallaght Hospital.

Gardaí said one of the men was being treated for serious injuries, and the second for treatment for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

Earlier reports that workers were trapped in cement at the site were incorrect.
