Six arrested after raids on houses across south Dublin

A stash of weapons and cash was discovered by gardaí.

SIX MEN HAVE been arrested after a number of garda raids across south Dublin.

These were carried out as part of the Operation Thor initiative and was coordinated by the Lucan Garda district.

Raids took place yesterday at six houses across Clondalkin, Palmerstown, Lucan and Balgaddy.

Gardaí managed to recover a substantial sum of cash, a KTM motorcycle that was believed stolen and firearm components including 9mm magazines, a telescopic sight and a large quantity of ammunition.

Gardaí have said that a number of the arrests were on foot of existing warrants that had been issued by the courts.

One man was arrested for a firearms offence under the Offences Against the State Act 1939. He is being held at Ronanstown Garda Station.

Operation Thor was announced last November following an increase in burglaries both in Dublin and nationally.
