Life dilemma: are you saying 'thanks' to the bus driver?

Let TheJournal.ie distract you from the ‘serious’ news with one of life’s REAL dilemmas.

IRISH PEOPLE ARE fond of saying ‘thanks’ to the bus driver. Sometimes quite loudly (it’s almost as if they went out of their way to stop at Chapelizod Main Street – next to the bus shelter).

They do it in other countries too, occasionally – but there seems to be an understanding in Ireland that it’s not optional. A recent survey by Dublin Bus found the overwhelming majority of passengers still like to say a quick ‘thanks’ on their way down the steps.

But – do you?
