Bus hijacked and burned out in Derry

Passenger and driver were ordered off the bus before three masked men set it alight. One of the men was armed.

THREE MASKED MEN hijacked a bus in Derry last night and set fire to the vehicle.

The PSNI reports that the three men, one of whom was armed with a gun, ordered a single passenger off the bus and told the driver to bring it to a halt in the middle of the road. They then set it alight.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A PSNI spokesperson says that the Glengalliagh Road has now reopened.
