A driver on strike in Ringsend, Dublin. Mark Stedman/Photocall Ireland

Travel disruption continues on second day of bus strike

There will be no Bus Éireann or Dublin Bus services. Not to the airport, not Nitelinks… Nothing.

DUBLIN BUS AND BUS Éireann services were cancelled again today, as members of the NBRU and SIPTU continued their two day strike.

The action is being staged in reaction to a proposal to privatise 10% of bus routes operated by the two firms – both of which are State-owned.

Some 850,000 commuters were affected by yesterday’s action.

Dublin Bus reiterated on Twitter this morning that no services at all are running – that includes Airlinks (airport services) and Saturday night Nitelinks.

Bus Éireann’s latest statement also confirmed no services would run today. Its school bus services ran as normal yesterday.
