Canadian delegates visit Dublin to attract recruits

About 335,000 job opportunities, mostly construction-based, are projected to arise in British Columbia and Alberta between now and 2014.

A CANADIAN DELEGATION including senior officials from the British Columbian Jobs Ministry are to visit Dublin this week with a view to attracting more than 300,000 Irish workers to the country.

The delegation from Western Canada will take part in the Working Abroad Expo, taking place in Dublin, which aims to facilitate the transition of Irish workers considering skilled migration to Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

The delegation will also hold meetings with government officials from the Department of Trade and Foreign Affairs and the Department of Education and Skills, as well as construction industry leaders, RTÉ reports.

About 335,000 job opportunities, mostly construction-based, are projected to arise in British Columbia and Alberta between now and 2014.
