Two women arrested after €500,000 seizure of cannabis plants

A cannabis growhouse was discovered in the outskirts of Castleblayney this evening.

TWO WOMEN have been arrested after a cannabis growhouse was discovered in Co Monaghan this evening.

The growhouse was found after a planned operation at a business unit in the outskirts of Castleblayney.

Cannabis plants worth an estimated €500,000 were seized in the raid.

The operation had targeted the sale of controlled drugs in the Monaghan area.

The women, aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested at the scene and are being detained at Carrickmacross Garda Station.
