Cannabis plants seized in Dublin, Kildare in separate operations

Gardaí also seized a handgun from a man they arrested in Dublin’s north inner city in an unrelated incident.

GARDAÍ HAVE SEIZED 500 cannabis plants following a house search in Carbury, Co Kildare.

A garda statement said the operation was carried out last night at Mylerstown, and the plants are believed to have a street value of €200,000.

No arrests were made during the search, and an investigation is under way.

Over the weekend, gardaí arrested a man and a woman in their 20s while conducting an unrelated house search in Finglas, Co Dublin. Gardaí believe they recovered cocaine worth over €200,000, cannabis plants valued at €10,000 and cannabis pollen valued at €100,000.

In a statement released over the weekend, gardaí said the substances discovered would be subject to analysis.

The Irish Times reports that in a separate and unrelated operation, gardaí seized a gun from a teenager in Dublin city. The man, aged 19, was arrested at East Wall, but is reported to be from Coolock.

He is believed to be associated with feuding gangs based around the Sheriff Street area which has claimed five lives in the past eight years.
