€240,000 of herbal cannabis seized in Carlow

The plants were seized at a house in Old Burrin in Carlow town earlier today.

GARDAÍ HAVE SEIZED €240,000 worth of cannabis in the Carlow area as part of their ongoing investigation into the cultivation of cannabis in Ireland.

The seizure took place at a house in Old Burrin in Carlow town with approximately 300 cannabis plants at various stages of growth seized.

Gardaí estimate the plants would have a street value of €240,000 pending analysis.

A technical examination of the scene where the plants were seized is under way and enquiries are ongoing, gardaí add.
