Man and girl arrested after €42k-worth of cannabis is found in car

The car was stopped on the N52 at Cloghan, Co Westmeath yesterday evening.

TWO PEOPLE HAVE been arrested after gardaí seized €42,000-worth of cannabis herb in Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

Gardaí attached to the divisional drugs unit in Mullingar seized the cannabis after searching a car they had stopped on the N52 at Cloghan at about 5pm yesterday.

A man (21) and a girl were arrested at the scene and are currently being detained at Mullingar Garda Station under section two of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.

Gardaí also seized an amount of cash that was found in the car during the search.
