Cannabis worth €90,000 seized in Navan

A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene following the seizure in Navan over the weekend.

GARDAÍ HAVE SEIZED cannabis with an estimated street value of €90,000 in the Beechmount area of Navan Co Meath over the weekend.

Metropolitan Region the Store Street Drugs Unit carried out a search of a house in the Beechmount area as part of an on-going investigation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs on Saturday.

During the course of the search cannabis with an estimated street value of €90,000 was seized, according to gardaí.

A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was detained at Store Street Garda Station under Section 2 – Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, he was subsequently released without charge on Sunday. A file will now be prepared for the information of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Investigations are continuing.
